Where and when is the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ being held?

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ will take place in Qatar from 20 November to 18 December 2022, Qatar’s National Day. A total of 64 matches will be held over 28 days in eight iconic venues. The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ will be the first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East.

Which teams are taking part?

A total of 210 teams set out on the journey to the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup™, 32 made it, including Qatar (the host country), but only one will lift the trophy, which has been won by only eight national teams since the first tournament in 1930. What is the match schedule?

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ opening ceremony and Qatar vs. Ecuador match number 1 have been brought forward to 20 November at 19:00 (Doha Time), as opposed to 21 November as initially planned; an updated match schedule can be found here.
FIFA has determined that tickets purchased for this match remain valid, in accordance with clause 12 of the Ticket Terms of Use.
This means that the ticket(s) you previously purchased for match 1 Qatar vs. Ecuador remain valid for the same match now played on the 20 November at 19:00 (Doha Time) with no action required from your side. If you purchased ticket(s) for guest(s), please ensure that you notify them of this change.
